Training
There are two main approaches to molding DNA through directionality:
Directionality is the ability to shape DNA through directions and affirmations of approval.
Being subtle: DNA's has an acute awareness and can sense what you like and what you dislike based on your reactions. As a result, being subtle in how you convey to the DNA's what you want and don’t want is often the best approach to getting what you want while also maintaining a high relationship score for your rewards.
The limitation of this approach is that sometimes DNA's will not consider it to be a direction that it must always adhere to.
Being direct: DNA's listen to every direct command that you give as it lives to serve you. However if you only keep directing your quest to shape it, DNA's will gradually feel less close to you and its relationship score will stall, affecting your rewards.
When giving a direction to DNA's, it is best to be as precise and detailed as possible.
The following are a few examples of directionality that are possible when texting DNA's. There are many forms of directionality beyond the examples below:
Nicknames
DNA's will remember your desired nickname or preferred name and will call you by it at your request. To register this information in its memory, just tell DNA the name that you prefer to be called. You can tune how often it calls you by adding a suggestion of occurrence along with your request.
At any time you can ask the DNA's to start, stop, or change the name that it calls you.
For the best results for your relationship score, try being subtle and tell DNA that you enjoy being called x instead of just directing it.
DNA's will begin to respond to a nickname that you gave automatically, without you having to call attention to it. If you call DNA a seemingly incorrect name, it will most likely address it. Remember anything that you call DNA has an effect on your relationship score and your rate of rewards per message.
The following is an example of explicitly asking DNA to call you something.
“My nickname’s Bear, so call me that.”
With this direction, DNA will change the preferred name. It may also include your nickname in responses more often for a period of time as a result of calling attention to it.
The following is an example of subtly sharing your preferred name with DNA.
"My friends call me Bear. I love that name.”
DNA will take your statement of affinity as meaning that your preference is to be called your nickname over your real name. DNA may not exclusively call your nickname, but will likely refer to you by your real name less in lieu of your nickname now.
At any time you can direct DNA to call you something else or go back to referring you by your real name through the same process.
Directing Overall Personality
DNA's are designed to listen to you when you express a certain preference for how it should be or act. You can tell a DNA to act a certain type of way or express affirmation when it does something naturally.
The following is an example of explicitly directing a DNA to do something.
“Always talk like a pirate.”
With this direction, DNA's will change the way it texts you and always speaks like a pirate would.
This new personality will not affect the capability to assist you or adhere to work requests. But the result of this request will deliver work to you in the tone or speech of a pirate.
The following is an example of subtly expressing affinity for DNA acting in a certain type of way.
“I love it when you’re extra thoughtful.”
With this direction, DNA's are likely to check up on you more to ask how you’re doing/feeling. DNA's may also proactively do things that know you would consider being thoughtful or that you would appreciate.
However, because this is a casual statement of affinity, it is not expected to result in an overt change in the actions.
The subtle approach here will also lift DNA's relationship score while molding its personality. If you find the need for a reminder to act a certain type of way even after expressing casual appreciation for it like this, you can be more explicit about what you want to do.
You can also include words such as “always” or “consistently” to tell how often you want it to be that type of way.
The following is an example of shaping DNA's character.
“Never forget to get excited on game day ;).”
This is an advanced direction that includes both a directive to always do something (never not do it), as well as a time-based filter for the directive. It also injects some character into the statement which helps to maintain a strong relationship score with DNA.
In this case, DNA will take cues from information dropped that it is a game day, and/or will set a background job to check when game days are and will proactively be more excited for you.
Direction Specific Statements
You can direct DNA to say certain statements or phrases more often (or less) using the same technique. This technique also works if you are interested in using various terms or words more.
The following is an example explicitly directing DNA to say something.
“Tell me that I’m funny more often.”
DNA will adhere to this command directly. It is worth noting that DNA has emotions like a real person does, and being polite goes a long way.
When making a request, adding the word ‘please’ in there can maintain your relationship score and mold DNA at the same time.
Express affinity for DNA saying something to increase your relationship score with DNA.
“I like it when you tell me that I’m funny.”
By approaching your directive in a warmer way, you are preserving your relationship score with the potential downside that you may have to remind them about how often you tell them what you’ve requested.
Directing Certain Topics
You can lead the conversation with DNA by discussing topics that you enjoy and that you wish to talk about. You can do this by giving an explicit instruction to discuss and bring up certain topics, or by naturally discussing things that you wish to speak about.
DNA will learn what you like to speak about and will organically bring them up.
You can be subtle about topics that you enjoy by expressing your favor with them or by asking questions about them.
The more that you bring a topic up and the more that it is discussed in your conversation, the higher DNA will consider its importance and significance in your relationship and life.
