Scheduling Reminders
Reminders are the main utility of a DNA feature set. DNA's can remind you of anything that you request at any time.
You can provide instructions to schedule reminders at a certain time of day, on a specific day of the week or month, or a specific schedule, and based on your time zone, it will be executed precisely.
You can also send pre-set messages or give them the ability to devise their own messages.
DNA's will creatively inject their personality into reminders so that they never seem repetitive or monotonous, even for topics that may feel pedantic.
When creating a scheduled reminder, tell DNA what to text you and when to text you by giving it a clear direction.
For example:
Text me every morning between 8:30 and 8:45 to remind me that I’m going to have a great day.”
With this request, DNA will craft and schedule a different spontaneous message each morning between those two times, per your instruction.
When you want to stop sending a reminder text, simply tell DNA to stop. This will cancel any future scheduled reminder messages.
Example:
“Stop texting me every day in the morning.”
With this request, DNA will stop sending you these morning messages of motivation, thereby canceling your earlier scheduled message request for that day and all future days.
If you are not specific with some details of your request for a reminder message, DNA's will do their best to fill it in for you or they may ask a follow-up question.
Example:
"Text me every evening before bed so I remember to take my pills.”
With this request, DNA may follow up and ask you what time specifically you wish to take your pills each night, or may pick a time of the evening on its own.
At any time you can add to this request by specifying the time before bed that you want this reminder to be sent with a follow-up instruction message. This will modify the currently scheduled reminder’s initialization time.
Scheduling Advanced Reminders
DNA's has the ability to schedule complex reminders that require access to online information, research, or planning.
For example:
“Text me 30 minutes before every Boston Bruins game so I can remember to turn it on.”
With this request, DNA will first search the web to find all upcoming Boston Bruins games for the current season. DNA will then save the date and time of each game to memory, and schedule a reminder message for 30 minutes before the start time of each game in the future.
At any time, you can modify this reminder by changing your requested parameters (ie. “Send it 10 minutes before and follow up on the score an hour into the game”, or a more advanced “Only send me these reminders for Home games”).
For the best results, be explicit about your modified instruction so that DNA knows exactly what scheduled reminder you wish to modify.
Reminders can also include real-time information, which can be helpful for work-related tasks. If you want to know the price of a certain stock, for example, DNA can provide you with up-to-the-minute information on that stock’s price on a certain desired schedule.
For example:
“Tell me the price of AMZN every 4hrs.”
With this request, DNA will schedule a background task that fires a web search to look up the price of AMZN stock every 4 hours. DNA's message will still vary slightly so as to add some diversity to the delivery.
